This album follows some good advice: "keep it simple, stupid." Haunted Horror Sounds restrains itself, and as a result it doesn't engage in the kind of silliness and melodrama that mark many others of its type. On the other hand, it also doesn't risk much in terms of being scary, so it isn't very involving. There's some nicely creepy music near the end, though, and its sound of a child crying is mildly unnerving.
