Before ABC took over the Fox Family Channel and cancelled The World's Scariest Places, the show was on its way to becoming a mildly scary experience. That is not evident in this album, which is an example of adults creating something for kids without an understanding of what would appeal to them. Surprising no one, tracks one and eight are commercials, and track two is a promotional rap monstrosity that scares me only in how terrible it is. The Baha Men's "It's Spooky in Here" brings to mind unpleasant memories of Hammer's "Addams Family Rap." Then again, how many people listening to this album were even around to have the fortune to listen to that magnum opus? And the people who put this album together liked "Spooky" so much they decided to subject us to it twice. "I'm Gonna Scare You" features Sue Rose's annoying performance, but maybe fans of Angela Anaconda, whatever that is, will like it. Really, none of the tracks are memorable, and the album ends in a quarter-hour-long special effects track that serves as filler, seemingly put here only to ensure that the album is more than sixteen minutes long.
