Batman, in his varied forms, has long proven to be an easy target for parody, and while Bat Thumb doesn't explore any new territory, it possesses more than enough of writer Steve Oedekerk's goofy humor and satirical softballs to be decidedly enjoyable. For instance, who could resist Blue Jay, Bat Thumb's whiningly funny sidekick? While hinting at a homosexual vibe between Batman and Robin is, again, nothing new, Oedekerk handles the subject in a snickering junior high school way that is worlds separated from, say, Robert Smigel's Ambiguously Gay Duo.
