Sorry for the somewhat snide synopsis--this film is actually a couple of cuts (sorry again) above your average psychic-link film for two reasons. The first is the film's interesting focus on sex as the killer's motivation and problem, as well as being the basis for a strange link with his brother. It also makes for a rather understated, realistic sex scene near the end of the film (no wailing saxophones--just Ennio Morricone's haunting score). The second reason is Michael Moriarty's excellent performances, both as the doctor and the killer. (Oct 1, 1999) | ||||||
