When an old woman is bitten by a rare rat-monkey, she turns into a rather gross zombie. Her doting son doesn't care that the infection is spreading, but soon, as the undead (not to mention their separated body parts--and entrails) surround him, he reconsiders. With a lawnmower.

Yes, this is another zombie film. But unlike others, this one has its tongue firmly in cheek, taking every opportunity to rip the piss out of the genre. Starring Timothy Balme, this film will have you in hysterics from beginning to end (but only if you like zombie films), the acting is cheerfully bad, and the effects completely over the top. High points include the vicar, who declares "I kick arse for the Lord!" and the zombie baby being taken for a walk. The directing is just mad, the gore hilariously over the top and the monsters fantstic. (Look out for the killer zombie anus!) Watch this film--laugh, but do not eat! For the first half hour the horror is truly creepy. Best line of the film: "Your mother ate my Dog!" Enjoy. (August 31, 2000) | |||
Available in several different versions. From what I know, the shortest version is the American release, and according to a horror film buff friend, the longest version is available on Japanese laserdisc, with other versions somewhere in between. If anyone has more details about this, please write me.
