Q: How do you make a movie filled with sex almost completely boring? A: I'm not sure, but here's a primer. The Exotic House of Wax is very little but sex, but each sex scene seems to have been filmed in realtime. And that's not a compliment--what I mean is that each "stylized" scene seems to go on for-ev-er. When will these filmmakers learn that for a sex scene to be effective, there has to be some emotional connection and/or friction between (or among) the two/three/twenty characters involved? A bunch of wax figurines coming to life and screwing each other isn't going to turn too many people on. In fact, the only sex in the film with potential ends in coitus interruptus, further proving that the filmmakers had no idea what they were doing. Forgive me for focusing on the sex in this picture almost to the exclusion of anything else, but the rest of the movie--the stupid plot, poor acting, and laughable attempts at tension--aren't worth more than a mere mention.
