Okay, let me start by saying that it's probably not fair of me to say that every horror movie that uses the Dies Irae movement of Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique is ripping off The Shining The piece is, after all, or so I've been led to believe, part of the Catholic burial mass. Let me continue along that line by saying that, hey, in this case, they probably were ripping off The Shining. Friday the 13th Part VI is played much more for laughs than other films in the series, and some moments of humor actually do help the entertainment value of the film. Of course, most fail miserably, like the bit early in the film that features the most ridiculous James Bond reference in the history of cinema. This movie might be fun if there was beer involved.
