This is not a horror movie--it's a psychodrama--but the title under which I rented it (The Demon Within) places it within the horror section of several video stores I've been in. That said, it is a psychodrama, but it's not a good example of its kind. I know what the filmmakers were trying to do: make a commentary on the effects of war and military conditioning overall. They partially succeeeded. But with unsympathetic characters and a slow moving plot, not to mention an ending that falls flat--it winds up obscured by the shadow of the superior A Clockwork Orange, which explored some similar themes.
