This movie has some pretty cool special effects, and some interesting directing, but it ultimately misfires for one reason: it takes itself far too seriously. Well, that and the fact that there are many talented actors with very little to do. Well, those two, and also that there's no real sense of danger and the characters are a mystery. (Feb 1, 1999)
