I have to tell you, this movie started out really well. It was intelligent, involving, and--after the protagonist moves into her vacation house--scary in a campfire sort of way. By that, I mean lone-woman-in-the-dark, and I'm not trying to be disparaging. Unfortunately, after a good start, the story meanders to an ending that is dumb and throws a good deal of confusion into the events of the movie until that point. Still, the first half is pretty good. (Feb 15, 1999) | ||||||
