Sleepwalkers isn't a great Stephen King movie, but from a strange point of view, it's the ultimate Stephen King movie. It has plenty of things that make some King flicks good--fitting direction and editing (in this case, aggressive and tight, respectively), snappy dialogue, fast cars, and just a general affection for popular horror. Sleepwalkers also has plenty of the components of bad Stephen King movies, like terrible overacting, so-so makeup, and cardboard characters. (I think King crafts some of the most wonderful, realistic characters in fiction today--in his books.) Definitely worth a watch, though, for its aforementioned savvier elements, and for Mädchen Amick's bright-eyed performance.
